Fresh off of the launch of her new perfume “Inspire”, Christina Aguilera attended the 2008 MTV VMA press conference to announce that she’ll be performing a special rendition of “Genie in a Bottle” as part of the 25th annual VMA’s most memorable performances.

In what’s sure to be a wondrous performance, Christina’s turn at the stage will also mark her first televised performance since giving birth to baby Max earlier this year.

Along with Christina’s big announcement, MTV VMA host Russell Brand went on to reveal that Kanye West will make his return to the VMAs to close the show with an “explosive finale”. Also of note, rapper T.I. told press on-hand that Rihanna and he will be debuting their new duet for the first time ever.

Less than a day after it was announced that Britney Spears would be making an appearance — but not performing — at Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards, it was confirmed that another singing superstar mom, Christina Aguilera, would both be showing up to the 25th annual ceremony and singing live.

“I’m very excited,” said Christina about the news, which was announced at a press conference at Paramount Studios in L.A. Refering to her 8-month-old son Max Liron, Xtina said, “This will be his first time watching me perform on television, but only for a little while because he’s not really allowed to watch television yet. I’ll make an exception for the VMAs.”

British comedian Russell Brand, who was on hand for the announcement, joked, “That kid is going to grow up with a hell of an Oedipus complex!”

In 2003, Christina and Britney made the list of most memorable VMA moments when they joined Madonna for a three-way, all-girl smooch after the Material Girl’s show-opening performance of a medley of her hits.

Also confirmed for Sunday’s ceremony:

• T.I. will perform with Rihanna.

• The Jonas Brothers (who Brand labeled “God’s favorite virgins”) will perform and have asked to be introduced by Taylor Swift — a request that Brand joked was “made from below their sexy little waists.”

• Katy Perry will perform Madonna’s pop classic “Like a Virgin.”

• Pete Wentz will somehow be involved with the beginning of the show, “probably with his wife, who is pregnant” said Brand.

• Kanye West will close the show with a performance.

Settling nicely back into the role of world famous pop star, Christina Aguilera showed off her curves in a figure-hugging ensemble as she stepped out in New York City on Tuesday afternoon (September 2).

The “Genie In A Bottle” babe was reportedly venturing over to Macy’s for a promotional event, looking even sexier than she did prior to giving birth to her son, Max Bratman.

After finishing up with her duties in New York City, Aguilera will reportedly soon be among those to take the stage with a performance at the 2008 MTV VMAs on September 7th.

Also included in the ever-growing list of performers are the Jonas Brothers, Pink, Kid Rock, Kayne West, Rihanna, and TI.

Christina Aguilera heads out to dinner with her son Max Bratman and husband Jordan Bratman, but first takes time to stop and sign autographs for fans in Manhattan, New York City on Monday.

Max is now 7 months and quite the cutie-pie!

The 27-year-old singer stepped out in a strapless graphic print max dress and held Max, who earned the couple $1.5 million from People magazine for the first photos. Max’s name means “Our Greatest Song” in Hebrew.

Xtina is working on her upcoming album and will perform at the Conde Nast Media Group’s 2008 Fashion Rocks benefit on Sept. 5th.

Just got word that Xtina has been snagged by Donald Trump to perform later this month during a party for his new Trump International Hotel & Tower in Dubai.

Guess Mr. Trump is doing what he can to get the richie-rich folks of Hollywood interested in his latest venture, because the soiree isn’t actually taking place in the Middle East, but at a private estate in L.A.

This will be just the second time Ms. Aguilera has performed since giving birth to son Max in January. She headlined a Las Vegas bash for jeweler designer Stephen Webster four months after becoming a first-time mommy.

Perhaps she’ll sing some new material. Aguilera has been hitting the recording studio lately to work on a new album.

Also on the bill for Trump’s to-do? Celebrity DJ for the night, Pete Wentz.

No doubt Xtina will share some baby tips with the daddy-to-be rocker.

Christina Aguilera dons a huge head of newly crimped hair as lies down on a couch with a nearly naked man at a photo shoot in downtown Los Angeles on Wednesday.

The 27-year-old powerhouse singer was among a host of stars including Donald Trump, Martha Stewart, Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein to appear in a campaign to commemorate the Macy’s 150th birthday.

Christina will perform at at the 4th Annual Fashion Rocks benefit at New York’s Radio City Music Hall on September 5 along with Rihanna, Chris Brown, Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake and Keith Urban.
